Last year on my old blog I posted pictures from Giyana’s first big girl room. Since we were living in New Jersey temporarily the furniture that we got there would be used for when we would be traveling from state to state for daddy’s job. Once we bought our home in Florida it was time to get her “forever” furniture. We bought most of the big stuff from Pottery Barn Kids with help from my mom. I am so thrilled about the bed and dresser set and happy that this will be Giyana’s furniture for her entire childhood! I hope it holds up, so far it has.
This room is VERY pink, which is G’s favorite color (for now anyways). The hubby and I painted the walls which at first looked like there was a big accident with Pepto Bismol
. So we attempted to fix it, and for the most part it’s much better, depending on the lighting. I chose pink because not only is it her favorite, but what other time in her life will she ever have this pink of a room?

Giyana has the ‘Allie’ bed which I love because it can have a canopy option if we ever want to make a change, for not too much money. The chandelier is also from pottery barn kids.

This little vanity is from PBK and can be found here.

The necklace holder was something I use to use for my jewelry. I spray painted it pink so G could have somewhere for all her necklaces to hang. The large amount of beads came from the Gasparilla parade in Tampa we went to last month. Daddy caught them all for her!

These letters are from Alphabet Boutique. I got them for her a long time ago when she was in her baby nursery and then repainted them and changed out the ribbon to match her room now.

Over her dresser there are bird mirrors and a banner that was made by my friend Kelli.

One of her favorite places to watch movies is in this chair.

I love these storage bins! They roll and attach like a train and are from Target. I first saw them at my friend Karissa’s house!

The library! What a great way to save space and stay organized! We took her somewhat walk-in closet and put bookshelves from Target in there. Now there is a place for all her movies and books! I always find her in there reading on her bunny chair and it’s too cute.

The tulle bedskirt is by far my favorite thing about her room. So princess and so girlie. We got this bedskirt at PBK and although it does rip easy (like the reviews said it would) I still love it.

Cute birdie canopy.

I made these “canvas” pictures of G and I still want to do about 3 more to add to the collage. Thank you Pinterest!

One of our dear friends made this bow holder for Giyana to hold all her pretty hair clips!
Okay, so that was a lot of pink! I realize that this room does somewhat resemble a room you might see in a Pottery Barn magazine. I have family who works there so we shopped there a lot and got so many great deals. I think though, after doing this room it would have been more fun to “hunt” for things instead of getting it all in one place. It seems somewhat lazy and less creative to me. I am positive, for the next room I do (maybe another nursery someday?) there will be more variety. It’s hard though, have you ever been in that store? It’s simply adorable and hard to resist.
